Commissioner Meetings



The Board of Commissioners holds regular meetings at 3:00 PM. Meetings are scheduled on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from January through September. In October, November, and December, meetings are held on the second Thursday and the fourth Tuesday of each month. Meeting dates may be adjusted to avoid holidays as necessary.

If you wish you can E-mail or mail in your comments prior to the Board Meeting and they will be read and included in the official meeting minutes. The Board of Commissioners are always looking for qualified candidates to potential fill any vacancies in the future. Your Commissioners



As a local municipality, Water District 125 operates under the authority of Title 57 of the Revised Code of Washington. The District is subject to federal, state and local regulations. Three local citizens are elected to the Board of Commissioners by voters living within the District's boundaries. The Board of Commissioners establishes water rates, sets policies, and oversees operations.



Behind the scenes



Renea Blanchette



Secretary of the Board



Commissioner Renea Blanchette was appointed to the Commissioner #1 position of King County Water District 125 in March 2017. She was subsequently elected to the position in the fall of 2017 and re-elected in 2023. Her current term expires on December 31, 2029. Commissioner Blanchette has served several years as President of the Board and is the longest-tenured commissioner of the District. Commissioner Blanchette is a member of the Pacific Northwest Section of the American Water Works Association, reflecting her ongoing commitment to the water industry and professional development. Her family has resided within the District since 1990, where she raised three children who are graduates of the Tukwila School District. She is well known in the community for her years of service as President of the Tukwila Youth Soccer Club, demonstrating her long-standing dedication to local families and youth programs.



Laura Marrone



Commissioner



King County Water District 125 is pleased to introduce Commissioner Laura Marrone. Commissioner Marrone was appointed to the Board on September 24, 2020, to serve until the next general election in 2021. She was elected in the fall of 2021, and her current term expires in December 2027. Commissioner Marrone brings a wealth of institutional knowledge and water industry experience to the Board. Prior to her appointment, she served the District for 15 years as its Administrative Technician, where she developed a strong understanding of District operations, finance, and regulatory compliance. In 2017, she was part of the District team that received the Washington State Auditor’s Stewardship Award in recognition of outstanding accomplishment in the stewardship of public resources. As a longtime ratepayer, Commissioner Marrone is a familiar face to many customers. Her extensive working knowledge of the District and the water industry continues to be a significant asset to the Board and to the District as it moves forward.



Leebue Maidesil



President of the Board



Commissioner Maidesil was appointed to the Board on January 28, 2021, to serve until the next general election in 2021. He was elected to the Board in the fall of 2021 and re-elected in the fall of 2025. His current term expires in December 2031. Commissioner Maidesil is a graduate of the Tukwila School District and a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served eight years as both a reservist and on active duty. In 2017, he received the Association of Washington Cities’ Association of Boards Certification in Collections for Public Utilities. Through both his professional career and his service as a commissioner, Commissioner Maidesil brings valuable industry knowledge and practical experience to the Board, supporting the District’s mission of providing reliable and responsible water service to its customers.
